On August 30th, nearly 45 volunteers gathered at Playa de Ajabo in Callao Salvaje for a beach clean-up organized by Canary Green. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was full of positive energy and collaboration, which made the event both productive and inspiring. In just two hours, the team managed to collect around 135 kilograms of waste, leaving the beach noticeably cleaner and safer.
Powered by Community and Partners
The event was made even more impactful thanks to the collaboration with the Adeje Town Hall, who supported the organization and provided essential resources for the clean-up. We are also very grateful for the enthusiastic involvement of our partners Mynd Hotel and Ocean Beer, whose commitment to sustainability and ocean protection perfectly matched the spirit of this initiative. Also big thank you goes to L’Osteria in Callao Salvaje for providing us with a delicious breakfast that gave us the perfect start and energy for the day. Together, we were able to create a stronger impact and show how powerful community action can be.

From Hard Work to Shared Moments
We started the day early, meeting at 8:30 am at L’Osteria Sea in Callao Salvaje. Over freshly brewed coffee and a delicious breakfast, we gathered our energy and shared some laughs before heading down to the beach. It was the perfect way to fuel up and get ready for the clean-up ahead, setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.
During the clean-up at Playa de Ajabo, volunteers collected dozens of bags filled with plastic waste, cigarette butts, and discarded packaging. Volunteers also collected waste from the parking area and along the coastline. We were also joined by a group of divers from a local diving center, who went below the surface to help clean the seabed. Their support was invaluable, ensuring that not only the shore but also the ocean floor was left cleaner and safer for marine life.
Thanks to everyone’s incredible effort, the beach was restored to a cleaner and safer state, helping to protect the local marine life and preserve this beautiful spot for the community and future visitors.
Afterwards, participants came together to relax and share stories from the morning, enjoying refreshing chilled Ocean Beer and a well-deserved sandwich from MYND hotel, the perfect way to celebrate our collective achievement.

Why Beach Clean-Ups Matter
Our beach clean-up at Playa de Ajabo wasn’t just about removing trash, it was about raising awareness and showing that small actions, when multiplied by many, can lead to real change. By taking responsibility and acting together, we’re helping to build a healthier planet for future generations.
But beyond the environmental impact, this clean-up also strengthened our community spirit. Coming together to protect our coastline shows that we are not only cleaning a beach, we are creating a growing movement of people committed to sustainability and positive action.
We’re excited to announce that our next Beach CleanUp will take place on September 27th in La Caleta de Adeje. Another great opportunity to roll up your sleeves, make a difference, and keep Tenerife’s beaches beautiful.
