Harold Goodwin Responsible Tourism

Dr Harold Goodwin

Managing director of the Responsible Tourism Partnership

Harold has worked on 4 continents with local communities and their governments as well as tourism industries. He is an Emeritus Professor and Responsible Tourism Director at the Institute of Place Management at Manchester Metropolitan University, Managing Director of the Responsible Tourism Partnership and advisor to the World Travel Market on its Responsible Tourism programme at WTM London, which attracts 2000 participants each year as well as WTM Africa and Latin America and Arabian Travel Market. He chairs the panels of judges for the World Responsible Tourism Awards and the Awards in Africa, India and Latin America.

Managing Director of BlueContec

Since his Master of science degree, to Head of Quality and Environment and head of product development and hotel consultancy for TUI. He is also founder and president of the board of Futouris E.V, to becoming a managing director of BlueConect, which takes care that sustainability becomes an essential factor for hotels and tourism businesses. In 2021, the new bluecontec initiative "tourism" started as an invitation to all tourism stakeholders to consciously shape the restart after the crisis based on the principles of sustainability and the empowerment of all involved actors.

Kay Gonzales

Founding partner of AD Alberto Dorner and Las Villas Govi SL

Founding manager of a sustainable vacation resort on the Canary Islands – Alberto Dorner – Boutique & Luxury Lodging. His goal is to protect existing communities and traditions from mass tourism. Exclusive for travellers, who are interested and involved in sustainability of the island and its people. As a public speaker, he aims to share what he learned as a former linguistics researcher and professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Kay is passionate about people involved in tourism and education.

Mercedes Reyes Zamudio

Administrator of Whale Wise Eco Tours & Research S.L.U.

Marine Biologist, MSc Marine Mammal Science, with over twenty years of experience on cetacean research and conservation. Her main interests are dolphin behaviour, bioacoustics, cymatics and interspecies communication. She has dedicated her life to pursuit understanding of dolphins, their language and their connection to humans, as well as, to protect cetaceans and their habitat. She has worked in the UK, Spain and Vancouver Island, Canada, for NGOs and Governments to monitor, educate and enforce good practices around the whales. She is an innate naturalist, and her passion, love, respect and knowledge easily flow to her audience.

Octavio Cabrera Toste

Founder and Managing Partner of Cabrera Rodriguez Lawyers and Tax Advisers

Lawyer and tax adviser with 25 years of experience. Graduated from San Pablo and Complutense University in Madrid as an expert in business law. Along his career he has completed his training with several studies on his field as well as graduated in English Language from Cambridge University (Proficiency-CPE). Octavio spent four successful years as a lawyer and fiscal advisor, firstly at COOPERS AND LYBRAND, and later at a renowned Canarian firm, before founding his own firm in 1999. Known throughout his legal career for his ability to advise on fiscal structures and tax planning, coach and mentor attorneys at all levels of professional development. Last October 2018 the firm has agreed to a gradual integration with ETL-GLOBAL, www.etl-global.com, becoming its leader in the Canary Islands.
