At Canary Green, we always love a good party. Last Friday, we even had two occasions to celebrate: Christmas is coming soon, so there was a need for a proper Christmas party! Moreover, our beloved Sustainable Destinations Manager, Selina Bonilla, is sadly leaving us, so we needed to send her off in a proper way. That’s exactly what we did last Friday at our Christmas-going-away beach party.
When you’re celebrating Christmas in a place as sunny and warm as Tenerife, you might as well go all out and celebrate at the beach! So, we grabbed a net and a ball and played some fun rounds of beach volleyball. To be fair, some played more than others, but the most important thing was that everybody had fun!
After becoming exhausted from all the playing, we needed refreshment. How convenient that everybody brought delicious food, resulting in an all-vegan Christmas-going-away picnic! We had sandwiches, pastries, salad, veggies, fruit, cookies, and more. And last but not least: The wonderful Maggie made us one of her special cakes: Mango cheesecake. It was so delicious; we couldn’t get over the fact that it was made completely without refined sugar and gluten. Oh, and of course, it was vegan!
It was a wonderful day filled with laughter and fun, a proper way to say goodbye to our beloved Selina. Thank you, Selina, for all the work and dedication you put into Canary Green over the last few months! We will miss your spirit in our team meetings and activities, but you are always welcome to come back. And, of course, you will always be part of our Canary Green Family!
As we bid farewell to Selina, we’re also bidding farewell to the year 2023. What a year it’s been! We built our directory, organized a Plastic-free Holidays workshop, discovered some amazing places in Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, marched at the Walk for Life, welcomed new team members, bid adieu to old ones, hosted our first Erasmus+ Training Course, tried new water sports, cleaned many beaches, made our own soaps, celebrated World Oceans Day, and so much more! Stay tuned for our annual report, where you will find all our activities from this year.
We are extremely thankful for this past year, and with all the upcoming projects and new ideas, we are nothing but excited for what’s next! So, 2024, here we go…
Thank you
