Empowering Tourists for a Sustainable Future: Beach Cleanup at MontaÑa Roja Natural Reserve

WE ORGANIZED A NEW BEACH CLEAN-UP

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to lose sight of the impact our actions have on the environment, especially when we’re on vacation.

However, at Canary Green, we believe that sustainability is about choices and that we should give back to the places we visit.

That’s why we tend to organize beach clean-ups. We thus recently organized one at the Montaña Roja Natural Reserve in Tenerife, in collaboration with the Ocean Born Foundation and MYND Hotels, continuing to work hand in hand to preserve the environment. This wouldn’t have been possible without the help and amazing work Ecoimplicados is doing! It’s always a pleasure to join them.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our natural treasures and educate tourists about their role in safeguarding the environment.

PRESERVING TENERIFE’S ISLAND PARADIse

Tenerife is an island that offers its visitors breathtaking beauty, rich biodiversity, and unforgettable experiences. The pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant marine life make it a paradise worth protecting. At Canary Green, we recognize the responsibility we have to educate people, especially tourists, about the significance of preserving the island they choose to vacation on.

the power of collaboration

Our partnership with MYND Hotels and Ocean Born Foundation, to organize events such as this one, or the one we did for Ocean Day, has been instrumental in our efforts to promote sustainable tourism. The success of the beach cleanup would not have been possible without them, nor the passionate individuals who joined us. It was a real satisfaction to see participants of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities, gathered to lend a hand and make a positive impact. It’s also a time when we can reflect on the choices we make as tourists or residents, and the responsibility we have to preserve the natural wonders we enjoy.

In short

Beach clean-ups allow you to:
• Help the environment to get a bit better
• Think about your own impact on it
• Meet inspiring people
• Be educated and educate people

EDUCATING AND PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

At Canary Green, our mission extends beyond organizing beach cleanups. We strive to encourage tourists to be more conscious of their actions and make sustainable choices. Through our initiatives, we aim to shift the paradigm of tourism and promote responsible travel. The beach cleanup served as a powerful catalyst for engaging participants in conversations about the environment and inspiring them to become the best possible actors in sustainable tourism.
