Recently, we had the absolute joy of hosting a special dance workshop with Escape Fit by Maggie and it turned into one of those moments that perfectly captures what Canary Green is all about: movement, connection, creativity, and community.
The setting couldn’t have been more inspiring. With the ocean just steps away, sunshine on our faces, and music in the air. Escape Fit by Maggie guided us through a fun and energetic dance session, teaching us the choreography to our new Canary Green song — a routine she created herself, drawing on her professional dance background and passion for movement.
Dancing Surrounded by Nature
Dancing outdoors while surrounded by nature, brought a sense of freedom and joy that you simply can’t replicate indoors. There was laughter, a few wrong steps (of course), and plenty of shared moments that reminded us how powerful movement can be for wellbeing and connection.
Escape Fit by Maggie has an incredible ability to make everyone feel comfortable, no matter their experience level. Whether you’re a confident dancer or someone who “has two left feet,” her sessions focus on enjoyment, expression, and feeling good in your body which is exactly what this workshop delivered.

Sustainability in Motion
This collaboration was also a beautiful example of creativity in action: music, movement, and community coming together to create something unique. We can’t wait to share more of this choreography with you soon. Moments of joy, connection, and shared experiences in nature are all a part of building healthier communities. We’re still smiling from it.
Canary Green’s tips to enjoying sustainable tourism in Canary Islands
Visiting Canary Islands on holiday doesn’t give you free rein to leave your values and principles at home. We encourage travellers to seek out sustainable options and keep up with environmental practices while travelling. Our top tips for a relaxed and wholesome stay include:
- Consider green transport options. Are you able to take a ferry to the island instead of flying? While you are here is a car necessary? Investigate public transport links or choose green options such as electric cars, green-hydrogen cars or e-bikes.
- Choose destinations that value sustainability and choose green alternatives such as solar power, recycling and energy-efficient architecture. This extends to places that value workers’ rights and the impact on the local community.
- Bring your own water bottle with you and refill it instead of buying single-use plastic bottles.
- Make use of the recycling when out and about and don’t just throw your rubbish in the nearest bin.
- Take advantage of local knowledge and immerse yourself in the culture through campaigns such as #Ilovecanarias and #meatfreemondaycanarias.
- Most of all, have fun and enjoy your time in the Canary Islands.
