Hostel Albergue La Casa Encantada invites travelers to experience a unique blend of history, art, and hospitality. This beautifully restored early 20th-century colonial house serves as a haven for those seeking a cozy and affordable stay while exploring one of the Canary Islands’ most enchanting locales.
A Variety of Accommodations
The hostel offers accommodations for up to 24 guests, thoughtfully distributed across five rooms.
Three of these are private, each catering to different needs. The family room, ideal for two to four people, features a double bed, two single beds, and access to both the street and the interior patio. Another private option is a romantic double room with a matrimonial bed and a window overlooking Salvador Miralles Street. For a cozier option, there is a twin room with two single beds and natural light streaming in through a skylight, creating a serene and peaceful ambiance.
For those seeking shared accommodations, La Casa Encantada provides two dormitory-style rooms. The larger shared room can accommodate 10 to 12 guests with four bunk beds and two single beds and opens onto a charming balcony overlooking the pedestrian street Manuel Taño. The smaller dormitory, perfect for six to seven people, also features a mix of bunk beds and single beds and enjoys views of a picturesque corner of the pedestrian street.

Inviting Communal Spaces
The communal areas of the hostel are as inviting as the rooms themselves. Guests can make use of a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing meals after a day of exploration. The spacious lounge-dining area offers a cozy spot for socializing or relaxing. Additionally, there are three shared bathrooms, ensuring comfort for all guests.
A luminous central gallery, lined with glass panels, connects the different spaces and opens onto an interior patio. This sense of openness and light is central to the hostel’s design, making every corner feel warm and welcoming.
For moments of relaxation, the wooden staircase leads to an attic and a gardened rooftop terrace with a chill-out area. From here, visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of the historic town and surrounding mountains.
A Haven of Light, Art, and History
Every corner of La Casa Encantada is designed to highlight the natural beauty of light and space. Large windows flood the interiors with sunlight, creating a sense of tranquility. The décor, featuring curated artwork including paintings, sculptures, drawings, and photographs, contributes to the warm and artistic atmosphere. A library and a computer with free internet access are available for guests who wish to relax or work during their stay.
This house is more than just a place to stay; it is steeped in history and culture. Previously, the building hosted the Canary School of Film, Art, and Creation, where workshops, concerts, exhibitions, and theatrical performances brought life to its walls. Over the years, it has also served as a community hub, including roles as a café, a lottery shop, a telephone office, and even an art workshop.
