Konarte Studio – If you’re planning a visit to the Canary Islands, you might think of the usual activities like lounging on the beach, hiking through volcanic landscapes, or indulging in local cuisine. But if you’re seeking a truly unique experience that immerses you in the natural beauty of the islands while supporting local businesses, then look no further than a painting workshop at Konarte Studio in Los Gigantes!
Painting is just another way of keeping a diary.
Konarte studio offers an unforgettable way to engage with the stunning cliffs and scenery that make this town famous. Our workshop took place outdoors, where we set up our easels with a breathtaking view of the majestic cliffs of Los Gigantes. Towering over 600 meters high, these cliffs are a geological marvel and the perfect subject for any aspiring artist. We arrived at the studio in the late afternoon, greeted by a warm smile and a relaxed, creative atmosphere. After a short introduction, we gathered our supplies and made our way outside to a panoramic spot overlooking the cliffs. As the golden hour approached, the sky began to soften with hues of orange, pink, and purple, providing the perfect backdrop for our session. Natalia of Konarte Studio was incredibly friendly and supportive, guiding us through the process while encouraging our individual expression.
Whether you were an experienced painter or a complete beginner, there was a sense of calm and creativity in the air, amplified by the soothing sounds of the ocean crashing against the cliffs.
Why You Shouldn’t Miss This Experience When you visit the Canary Islands, you’re surrounded by nature’s beauty at every turn. This painting workshop is a chance to slow down and engage with that beauty in a meaningful way. Instead of just taking photos, you’ll leave with a piece of art that you’ve created yourself a tangible memory of your time in Los Gigantes. Moreover, supporting Konarte Studio is a wonderful way to give back to the local community. Small businesses like this are the heartbeat of the islands, offering unique and authentic experiences that go beyond the typical tourist trail.

Canary Green’s tips to enjoying sustainable tourism in Tenerife
Visiting Tenerife on holiday doesn’t give you free rein to leave your values and principles at home. We encourage travellers to seek out sustainable options and keep up with environmental practices while travelling. Our top tips for a relaxed and wholesome stay include:
- Consider green transport options. Are you able to take a ferry to the island instead of flying? While you are here is a car necessary? Investigate public transport links or choose green options such as electric cars, green-hydrogen cars or e-bikes.
- Choose destinations that value sustainability and choose green alternatives such as solar power, recycling and energy-efficient architecture. This extends to places that value workers’ rights and the impact on the local community.
- Bring your own water bottle with you and refill it instead of buying single-use plastic bottles.
- Make use of the recycling when out and about and don’t just throw your rubbish in the nearest bin.
- Take advantage of local knowledge and immerse yourself in the culture through campaigns such as #Ilovecanarias and #meatfreemondaycanarias.
- Most of all, have fun and enjoy your time in the Canary Islands.
