Yesterday, we visited Suka Fruit Bar in Fañabé: a vibrant, feel-good café tucked just a few steps away from the southern Tenerife coastline. What looked like a small fruit bar turned out to be one of the most colorful, nourishing food stops we’ve experienced on the island.
We came hungry and left amazed. First came the fluffy pancakes topped with fresh fruit, followed by a round of refreshing smoothies that tasted like summer in a glass. Then we dove into a rich and satisfying club sandwich alongside the tropical bowl, a frozen mango blend topped with peanut butter, seasonal fruits, crunchy nuts, and seeds. It was indulgent and energizing all at once.
Suka also lets you build your own salad, choosing from a generous selection of fresh veggies and toppings, paired with truly amazing homemade dressings. Every bite felt balanced, flavorful, and made with intention. And because no visit is complete without something sweet, we finished with their amazing homemade cheesecake and iced latte.
From flavor to presentation to sustainability, Suka Fruit Bar hits all the right notes, a true hidden gem for food lovers in the south of Tenerife.

What Suka Fruit & Salad can offer?
Suka Fruit & Salad is a vibrant and health-focused café with two locations on the sunny south coast of Tenerife: one in Fañabé, Costa Adeje, and another in Playa de las Américas. Specializing in fresh smoothie bowls, customizable salads, healthy wraps, pancakes, and cold-pressed juices, Suka is all about honest food made with love.
What truly makes Suka stand out is its focus on natural ingredients, sustainability, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re in the mood for a tropical smoothie topped with peanut butter and granola, or you’re building your own salad with homemade dressings, everything is served fresh and always with a smile.
The staff at Suka are incredibly kind and attentive. From patiently explaining the menu to helping you mix your perfect bowl or recommending a juice combo, their friendly energy adds an extra layer of comfort to the experience. You really feel like a valued guest.
The space itself is cozy and colorful, just a short walk from the beach, perfect for a healthy breakfast, quick lunch, or refreshing post-surf snack. Suka is loved not only for its food but for the good vibes, genuine service, and feel-good atmosphere. A true hidden gem in the south of Tenerife.
What we recommend
We were genuinely surprised by how good the salad was super fresh and topped with one of the best dressings we’ve had in a while. Every smoothie we tried was spot-on, but the Banana Drank (protein shake with chocolate, banana, and soy milk) really stood out: rich, refreshing, and not too sweet. The club sandwich looked incredible, huge, packed with fresh ingredients, and unlike any club sandwich we’ve seen before. And of course, the Tropical Bowl was a pure hit. Fruity, creamy, and loaded with all the right superfoods. To finish, we shared the best cheesecake ever, smooth, light, and perfectly balanced, alongside an iced caramel latte that wrapped up the whole experience just right.

The Kind of Place You Remember
Suka Fruit Bar doesn’t scream for attention, but once you’re there, you instantly get it. It’s the kind of spot where time slows down, the food speaks for itself, and everything feels a little lighter. Whether you’re sipping a smoothie under the Tenerife sun or building the perfect salad bowl, Suka has a way of grounding you in the moment. No fuss, no filters, just real food and really good energy. And honestly, that’s all we needed.
Canary Green’s tips to enjoying sustainable tourism in Canary Islands
Visiting Canary Islands on holiday doesn’t give you free rein to leave your values and principles at home. We encourage travellers to seek out sustainable options and keep up with environmental practices while travelling. Our top tips for a relaxed and wholesome stay include:
- Consider green transport options. Are you able to take a ferry to the island instead of flying? While you are here is a car necessary? Investigate public transport links or choose green options such as electric cars, green-hydrogen cars or e-bikes.
- Choose destinations that value sustainability and choose green alternatives such as solar power, recycling and energy-efficient architecture. This extends to places that value workers’ rights and the impact on the local community.
- Bring your own water bottle with you and refill it instead of buying single-use plastic bottles.
- Make use of the recycling when out and about and don’t just throw your rubbish in the nearest bin.
- Take advantage of local knowledge and immerse yourself in the culture through campaigns such as #Ilovecanarias and #meatfreemondaycanarias.
- Most of all, have fun and enjoy your time in the Canary Islands.
