There are some incredible places popping up all over the island that offer delicious and creative vegan menus.

For the sake of this article, we’ll tell you about the best places to eat vegan food in the north of Tenerife. No more googling ‘vegan food near me’, these places are all tried and tested winners. So go and try them out when you’re in town!

A varied and delicious menu full of vegan options. From curry to falafel to tacos, the portions are big and so delicious! These people know what they are doing when it comes to flavour.  The plates are served with style and the portions are big too.

Must try: the babaganoush!  The interior is quirky and stylish and there’s also a nice outdoor seating area. Attention to detail and impeccable service make this place a pleasure to dine at.  Make sure you book in advance as it gets busy, especially on the weekend. Main meals cost around 10 euros.

Another beautifully designed place in the city centre. Wakanda has a small menu of delicious and healthy food. You can choose from a buddha bowl, burger or curry. Definitely go for the portobello mushroom burger!

There is a selection of starters which are all delicious too; the patacones filled with guacamole are life-changing! Again, the friendly staff creates a great vibe at this restaurant. Don’t miss it if you’re in Santa Cruz!

4. Casa Verde, La Orotava

You can’t visit the north of Tenerife without seeing the beautiful historic town of La Orotava. Believe it or not, the town also hosts a couple of outstanding vegan places to eat. Casa Verde is a healthy cafe and organic tienda. They sell juices, smoothies, salads, wraps, and their famous vegan burger which includes a vegan cheese that actually tastes delicious! A rarity some may say.

A family-run place, with so much passion behind it, you will feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. The guacamole is a must-try. They also know how to do coffee right. So if you’re a bit of a coffee connoisseur and want beans that have been freshly roasted on the island, then grab an espresso at Casa Verde.

They have fast Wifi too, so a great spot if you want to get some work done. You can also find every healthy food or supplement under the sun in the shop that’s part of the cafe. So if you’re looking for a healthy meal and to shop for some vegan products, this is your place! Everything they sell is also organic.

5. Ohannah, La Orotava

Not solely a vegan/vegetarian place but this restaurant has an array of options for those looking to cut back on their meat consumption.

Not the healthiest of options but if you are craving some vegan junk food, this is your place. Try the cauliflower burger for a tasty surprise!

Fancy a tasty brunch that’s actually filling? This brunch hits the spot! Generous portions, the vegan brunch includes rice, beans, platano, avocado, and arepas.

The recently opened bar/restaurant has outdoor seating and is very popular amongst locals which creates a fun vibe, especially on weekends! The brunch comes with coffee, cava, and orange juice included. Book in advance if you don’t want to be disappointed!

7. Al Amir Lebanese, Puerto de la Cruz

This restaurant on the main square of Puerto is infamous! All the locals know and love it. Why? Because the food is exceptional. The most perfect, crunchy falafel, homemade hummus, and babaganoush made to perfection.

An array of salads, wraps, and vegetables, you won’t be spoilt for choice with this incredible menu. The restaurant is huge but the service is great, they sure know how to do it right!

8. Advans, Puerto de la Cruz

When you think of vegan food, Balkan cuisine probably doesn’t spring to mind. Usually, very meat and dairy-heavy cuisine but Advans have recreated some of the classic dishes to be vegan. They even make a delicious vegan bechamel sauce. 

Everything is homemade and the menu is really creative! Meat eaters and vegans alike love this place.

9. Aromas de la India, Puerto de la Cruz

Every night, the tables of Aromas fill the streets with happy diners munching delicious food. 

Exceptionally created Indian cuisine with plenty of vegan options like dahl and veggie curries. The garlic naan bread is mouth-wateringly scrummy!

It’s hard to get Indian food wrong but it’s also hard for it to be authentic and exceptional. This is the real deal.

10. Bar Cafetería Delicias Venecanarias, Puerto de la Cruz

If you are looking for something more speedy, this areperia is a great option.

Arepas are a traditional dish that originates from Gran Colombia (Venezuela, Colombia, Panama). This restaurant has an excellent vegan option that comes with frijoles (black beans) avocado and spicy sauce. Delicious, affordable, and speedy.
